NOTES

Charles A. Robinson served as co-principal (with fellow Princetonian Dr. John C. Bucher) of the Peekskill Military Academy for 40 years, during which it grew from 60 students and one building to more than 300, with a dozen buildings and a national reputation. A brilliant undergraduate, he was Latin salutatorian for his class. While doing doctoral work at Princeton he assisted Andrew Fleming West with his Latin Grammar and published pamphlets for use in his classes. In the class^lhemorial published in the Princeton Alumni Weekly, the authors wrote, "Possessed of a brilliant mind he was a great student, and, having the qualities of a great companion and friend, he became a great teacher who interested his classes and so really taught. What Arnold was to Rugby, Robinson was to Peekskill Military Academy.''
