NOTES

An ordained minister who never held a pastorate, Asahel C. Kendrick was a Hellenist, distinguished mainly as a teacher of Greek. He taught for 60 years and was one of the first American professors to visit Greece. Among his other interests were New Testament scholarship, serving on the Committee on New Testament Revision, and the English and American poets. In addition to the publications listed here, he wrote for The Baptist Quarterly Review and published many of his speeches.
