    Pease never completed his Ph.D. under Kirby Smith at Johns Hopkins, but joined Fairclough and A. T. Murray (also from Johns Hopkins) at Stanford. His major contribution was editing the Student's Series of Latin Classics in 36 volumes with Fairclough for B. H. Sanborn of Boston.
