Latin at Sight (Boston, 1894); Selected Epigrams of Martial (Norman, OK, 1908; repr. 1967).
Edwin Post was a professor of Latin for 53 years. At DePauw he assumed responsibility for organizing the university's library, a project which consumed 20 years of his career and, while it provided immeasurable value for DePauw, nevertheless greatly limited Post's own publications. His Martial was widely considered the best school text of that author and reflected his ability to gauge student needs and clarify grammatical questions. According to Dade Bee Shearer, at the time of his death, 70 graduates of his Latin Department were teaching Latin in Indiana.
